Champions Do More | Moscow
We’ve opened a new training facility in Moscow, Russia! Named @larionovpro our motto is #ChampionsDoMore.
.
I’ve seen this modeled by my Dad as he climbed the ladder of success becoming one of the most venerated athletes in his field. He is ONE of 29 ice hockey players + coaches who are members of the Triple Gold Club, winning Olympic Games gold medals (‘84, ‘88), World Championship Gold medals (‘82, ‘83, ‘86, ‘89), + the Stanley Cup (‘97, ‘98, ‘02). Alongside these accomplishments, he’s been inducted into three Hall of Fames + currently sits on the board of the HHOF in Toronto.
.
What I know is that he got there bc he DID MORE than the rest. Yes talent, luck, circumstance all play a role, but the dude didn’t have it easy. As a young guy being told that he’s “too small” + “too weak”. As a player for the CCCP he was “too outspoken”. In the NHL (to use Don Cherry’s words in exaggerated form) “too Russian”. He wasn’t scrappy. Wasn’t gritty. Wasn’t BIG. He was smart. Intelligent. A playmaker.
.
Beyond that, he retired at the age of 44. How? Bc of his LIFESTYLE; sleep, nutrition, refraining from supplements + muscle enhancing methods, a rigorous workout regime, balanced eating + drinking, focus on family instead of “going out”, + what I believe to be the most important thing, self-actualization + a stoic-like philosophy which kept him grounded, humble + grateful.
.
Which is where I come in by teaching our athletes the importance of all the other things; the mindset, confidence, goal-setting, development of emotional intellect, + a structured accountability which aligns the WHY we “do more” to the HOW we “do more”. My focus is bridging the HEART + MIND. We focus so much on the physical, often forgetting of what’s going on inside.
.
Based on my Father’s philosophy + my learned techniques through my experience as a life coach, I will be offering my services at our new location. For more info slide into the DM’s, or check out @coach.alyonka. I am humbled + excited to open a new way of BEing in a country that speaks very little of mental health. Sports are important. But Sports w/out Head + Heart only go so far. Remember CHAMPIONS DO MORE!
