Anorexia Nervosa, The Challenger | Moscow

My story on my battle with Anorexia Nervosa has been firstly published in Russia today.
.
For a country that is in its infancy stages in slaying the taboo of mental illness, I am HONORED + feel wholly privileged to be able to speak OUT LOUD on #MentalHealth and the importance of Speaking Our Truth (always). Especially when no one else is doing it. Especially when in Russia, Anorexia is seen as “a made up, I’ve got nothing better to do with my time, rich girl, I just want to be skinny” sort of passing the time thing. IT IS FAR FROM THAT. It has the highest mortality rate of any mental illness. It KILLS. I repeat: IT WILL KILL YOU. It almost killed me. And yet, here I am, 2 1/2 years into my Recovery, talking about Survival + my Desire to LIVE my FULLest life, fighting for myself and OTHERS whom are suffering in Silence. Suffer quietly no more.
.
PLEASE share this, read this, engage with this, ask questions, seek help, start a conversation. YOU ARE NOT alone. Not in your anxiety, your depression, your suicidal thoughts, your disordered behavior, your negative inside your head conversations, your sadness, your grief, your fighting for your life. I SEE YOU. I see you. I see you.

Thank you @the_challenger.ru for taking the lead. For @komandnaya for sitting down with me over a cup of coffee + opening your heart (+ eats) to hear my story. For pushing for it to be written. YOU are taking the lead + breaking boundaries most are unwilling to break! Thank you @alex_bykova for interviewing with genuine curiosity + for writing my truth. Honored to work with WOMEN on this. Big ❤️ to you all 🙏🏼🙏🏼
